Week of November november 29 2011

BIOLOGY
Hope you all had a happy and restful Thanksgiving. We are going to pick up right where we left off...PHOTOSYNTH#ESIS.Tuesday we will discuss the why and how for each of the light cycle steps and do the same for the light independent on Tuesday. A work sheet will wrap us up and hopefully reinforce any concepts that are still fuzzy.
Thursday and Friday will be respiration discussion with a lab tossed in for good measure.


AP BIOLOGY
We are smack dab in the middle of our evolution topic. Tuesday we will talk about Hardy Weinberg and learn how to apply the concept to a population. Wed will be a fishy lab that supports H.W.there will be a practice problem sheet and lots of calculations and graphing.Sounds like fun doesn't it? Thursday looks like lecture on behaviors and a lab if there is time.If not the lab shifts to Friday.

Week of November 14, 2011

Biology
We'll wrap up the cell cycle and meisis this week with some reinforcement worksheets on Monday, Jeopardy review on Tuesday and our TEST on wednesday. The next topic is a rough one...Photosynthesi and respiration. Lecture is planned for Thursday and probably into Friday.

AP Biology
We are zipping through one of your favorite topics...Genetics. Monday we will lecture on probability of events and try some practice problems. Tuesday will be a test on PunnettSquares and Probability. Lecture is moving Beyond Classical Genetics into genes that don't follow the rules. This week we have one lab on DNA fingerprinting scheduled.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 7 2011

BIOLOGY
We start our week with a lab on the cell cycle. You'll get a chance to test your skill at identifying different stages of the cycle in onion root tip. Report will be due Wednesday. Wednesday we will lecture meiosis compare the steps and the outcome with the cell cycle. Thursday we will wrap up the lecture and complete a worksheet on the cell cycle and meiosis.Enjoy your long weekend!


AP BIOLOGY
This week is devoted to DNA we will cover replication transcription and translation in lecture then end our week with an activity that reinforces lecture topics.;
